Dorian Yates:
“I think Ronnie’s special because he set that standard of size and condition that hasn’t been matched since — and probably won’t be. He’s special for that, you know.
Try to find a picture of me smiling when I was Mr. Olympia and training for the Mr. Olympia — you’d be hard-pressed to find one because it was tough. I didn’t feel like smiling; I was in a war — a war with myself and everybody else.
But Ronnie managed to do it all the time with a smile on his face. I think he’ll probably be remembered for that personality as well — and for his interaction with the fans.
He loved being with the fans all the time, whereas some of us, after a while, we’d get tired and just want to go home.
Ronnie seemed to stay there, enjoying every minute.
So, I think,
you know, for what he did — and for his personality — he’ll always be
remembered.
